C. Henrique Serezani, PhD

Title:  Understanding Skin Host Defense in Health and Disease

C Carlos Henrique Serezani, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology and Pharmacology. Dr. Serezani completed his Ph.D. at the University of Sao Paulo and the University of Michigan. He also completed his postdoctoral studies at the University of Michigan. He was an Assistant Professor at Indiana University School of Medicine (2012-2016) and has published more than 70 papers in reputed journals. His skin immunology interests started 6 years ago, and since then, he has focused his research theme almost entirely on dissecting mechanisms of resistance and susceptibility to skin infections. The NIH and other foundations have funded his laboratory for almost 15 years.
